Something is wrong with your registration

Hi guys, I am a newbie and this is my first post. I really enjoy reading the post and responses, it seems to be a nice neighborhood. May I say thank you in advance for any help. Here is the problem, I downloaded and ran the Hoster Lite demo, it worked great (with an external CD-rom) for a week, so I paid for and installed Hoster Lite on the same computer, it did the registration on the floppy disk and I ran that floppy on my on-line computer and it OK-ed the registration, I put the floppy in my computer and clicked on install again, and got an error message telling that ''Something is wrong with your registration. The machine you are installing on does not match the machine registered on this Remaovable storage. Click OK or Cancel to terminate the install. Then insert the correct Removable storage and run the installation again." Well that was the correct one. What do I do now?

The computer is an HP XE3 with a fresh factory restore of XP pro and like I said the Hoster Demo still works perfect so I am hoping I don't need to install SP/2, or any updates, I don't want to go on line with it, as it is to be for Karaoke only. Thank you for any help.......jimmy

Thank you Beavis, for the speedy reply. I'm sure your right, infact I may as well install SP/2 and do the updates if I have to go online. I will get back to you, thanks again.....jimmy

your welcome

thats MTU's big thing, all windows updates. plus your video card update should come from the manufacturer not windows update.

thank you, thank you, thank you

Hi Beavis and all, thank you, thank you, thank you, it works great now. I did the SP/2 thing and went on line and did all windows updates. So then I thought to myself, sense I am having similar problem with my main computer with a 3.301 upgrade and floppy, I'll try the floppy thing once more and it was the same error as before, then the light bulb in my head blew out, then I tried to run the floppy registration from the same computer it was to be installed on, did the basic registration till it kicked the floppy out then I shut down and plugged in the NIC cable and rebooted, inserted the floppy, did the registration, that all went nicely, so I shut down and rebooted, Tried the floppy to install Hoster lite and got the same error message....so that meant that all the updating did not solve the error problem. Then I did a cold boot and went on line and did an install, which went off without a hitch.....go figure.
To sum up, the floppy thing'y is just broken on MTU's end, (it would appear) and I could have saved myself a lot of pain if I had just done exactly what you said. Moral of the story, do what the man says, and just hope you will understand later. Lord my head hurts. Two days to install Lite, now I have to uninstall the demo.....oh well. THANKS AGAIN.....jimmy
