Microstudio, CDG drive and Hoster question
 

I just purchased the Microstudio Suite 4 with high hopes of importing my karaoke CDs onto my laptop for future use. Apparently the drive will not read cdg, so I will have to purchase a CDG drive.
My question is: Must I have Hoster along with Microstudio in order to import the files?
I want to know exactly what it is I need, as I am anxious to move forward with using karaoke from my laptop rather than hauling all of my CDs and equipment around.

It depends what your future use is. Hoster is geared for putting on a show. Hoster also can rip (import) the songs in a compressed format. This way you can fit a lot of files on your computer. It sounds like you have a lot of cd's so it seems Hoster would be right for you.

Microstudio will import and play large files onto and from your computer. In another thread I was allowed by MTU to mention some software, but I am shy about it here. In any case, even that software starts with imported files like what Microstudio can import.

Microstudio is not a very good player, but of course can do a lot of useful things.
