No Audio

When I import a new cdg to a kma when I play a song there is no sound. The words are there but no sound at all. I have XP media I have a Plextor px-w1210a 12/10/32a it works in windows media player and Microstudio demo. I dont know what to do to fix this. I have more kma files and they work fine and when I try to use it just as a cdg temp download as soon as I hit play it deletes it. What am I doing wrong? I tryed to down load the new firmware for plextor. I have the new 3.303. What can I do to fix this or do I need a new player?

did you make sure your wave volume is turned up ?

nightwolfone April 25th, 2006 05:40 PM

Yes t workes with windows media you can hear it just not in hoster.

mikedomi April 25th, 2006 06:35 PM

look to see if you have the software decoding check if you do uncheck it
and try importing a disc and see if it works then

nightwolfone April 25th, 2006 11:34 PM

No it is not checked and has not been checked

bryant April 26th, 2006 10:56 AM

Then try it checked (if it is not a plextor).

bryant April 26th, 2006 10:57 AM

There are a few rare Plextor's that require the check I believe.

I am not sure about this drive, but I would say to try Upgrading the firmware for it, from http://www.plextor.com/english/suppo...firm_1210.html

What version of the software are you using? Also, the Microstudio demo does not use the new MMC software, which this drive may not support to read the Karaoke.

It is possible that this drive may be to old to work with our newer technology.

i have a plextor 12/4/32 and have never had a problem.

MTUSUPPORT April 27th, 2006 12:31 PM

Beavis,
Thanks for the Input. Its been a while since I have seen or used one of these drives.

What version does it show after your drive, as the Firmware? Should be like 1.0x the very latest version was 1.10 for that drive.

Just trying to think of things for him to try.

mikedomi April 27th, 2006 12:56 PM

that driver

MTUSUPPORT April 27th, 2006 05:01 PM

He has the IDE Model: Plextor px-w1210a 12/10/32a

The last version of the firmware showing on their website is 1.10.

nightwolfone April 30th, 2006 06:51 AM

I tried the new firmware. And it stell dont work. I dont know if it matters but I have laptop with the plextor as a external but it worked when I used the 3.120 demo. But when I bought the new one and downloaded it I am unable to get it to work right the words show up but no sound. thinks for all of your help to try to find out what i wrong

MTUSUPPORT May 3rd, 2006 01:35 PM

The 3.120 Version did not use the new MMC code, that allows for other drives to work. This also may only work on newer types of drives that support mmc2 and mmc3.

Have you tried doing the Firmware upgrade, just to get the latest version?

nightwolfone May 3rd, 2006 11:58 PM

Yes I wont to the site you said eo and used that link. And did whet it said. So dose that mean I will have to get a new one
