Song Book Double Listings
 

For some godly reason, my songbook has double entries for all the files? How can I build a fresh new songbook?

try this in the hoster folder there is a song book folder
delete whats in that folder

then go back and do a new song book that should take care of it

Another Database Question
 

Is there anyway to go into the database and change everything to uppercase? Some songs are in uppercase and lowercase, if i can get through the database and change everything to upper at once that would be great. This way I wouldn't have to go and edit every freaking song through hoster. My viewer is Microsoft Word.........Would it be good if I got a hold of Access? Isn't this HOLSTER database built through Access?

no you have to use hoster or a hex editer to do this
1 at a time unless there is some one else who knows more about it then i do

but as far as i know that is the only way to do it

IF you are talking about the Song Books and you have MSWord<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation, then, yes.

Open your SongBook.RTF in MSWord<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation, click on FORMAT, Click EDIT, CLick SELECT ALL, Click on FONT, Click the BOX next to ALL CAPS to CHECK it, Click APPLY, Click FILE, and Click SAVE.

If you are talking about making HOSTER's Songs.MDB all CAPS, you can copy the data from the Songs.MDB into MSWord<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation and perform the same procedure in the paragraph above.

Then, with a little more ingenuity, you can delete all the Data in the Songs.MDB and copy the "ALL CAPS" Data from MSWord<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation back to the SONGS.MDB.

I figured out how to change everything into uppercase through word, no problem. My issue is as, In my hoster songbook database i have some of my songs in uppercase...........by this it sepreates the text into two different words...e.g. Nickelback in lower case would show up as a different entre as if it was in uppercase. So by changing word to all uppercase it still doesnt allow me to eliminate the different listings...........are you lost yet? :g Nickelback listed twice because of the upper and lowercase.....so I need to change everything to uppercase through hoster songbook, can it be done?

Unfortunately, the way Hoster is PROGRAMMED, even if you are, and I was, able to change the FONT to a FONT that FORCES upper case in the Songs.MDB, which you can ONLY do, directly, if you have MSAccess97<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation, and, or use MSAccess2000 <--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation and CONVERT back and forth between MSAccess2000 and 97<--Registered Trademark of Microsoft Corporation, you will ONLY see HOSTER FORCING the FONT to appear in the STYLE HOSTER is PROGRAMMED to display...such as what is appearing in the "Song" and "Title" fields on the Hoster MAIN SCREEN...and uses the SAME FONT when CREATING a Hoster generated SONG LIST, which, COMPLETELY, disregards any FONT the SONGS.MDB is using.

So, until Hoster's SongBook Feature is programmed NOT to recognize SAME WORDED Songs as TWO SEPARATE Songs due to one Song being UPPER Case and ONE SONG being LOWER Case, here is another reason not to use printed Song Lists.

Ok enough of the technical stuff........i guess i will spend another three years converting what is upper to lower case...hahaha.............now I wouldn't have an issue you with the conversion through "word" but for some un-godly reason................ I have to many seperate listings for the same freaking artist...I never changed the font etc?????? Why does songbook do that???
Not only do I have to go and change uppercase to lower now I have to go to edit and search for multiple listings and copy past each freaking one off of one entre, so I can have only one entre for that singer/band...........I lost myself. Did I lose you? Also folks if you use the MTU database for your entries..............make sure you triple check it..there are way to many mistakes.............but it is still helpful............ :g

I HAD A BRAIN FART............MTU CAN MAKE MORE MONEY IF THEY ACTUALLY SIT DOWN AND MAKE A FIX TO THIS SONGBOOK ISSUE AND ALSO INCORPORATE IT WITH kj DATABASE...............MAN I COME UP WITH SOME FREAKING IDEAS :g FOR REAL THOUGH I HAVE BEEN LOOKING THROUGH THE FORUMS AND THEY GO BACK A FEW YEARS IN REGAURDS TO THE ISSUES I HAVE SPOKE ABOUT..............JUST CURIOUS IF THEY COULD ACTULLY TO AN UPDATE ON SONGBOOK.....I WOULD BE WILLING TO SPEND THE MONEY........WELL MAYBE NOT......BY THAT TIME I WILL HAVE FIXED MY ISSUES :e

You can change the case in MSWord by selecting to format the text in "Title Case" then each word is capitalized only.

Are you sure that your version is actually doubling the data? Or could it be that it's just not sorting and grouping it correctly?
