Reinstalling Hoster Disables Microstudio & Vogone
 
Recently, I reinstalled Hoster on one of my machines.

The reinstallation of Hoster worked fine, however on the completion of reinstallation, every other product on my machine purchased from MTU was disabled and will no longer run. (i.e. the rest of the entire suite of products is dead.)

If you click on the Microstudio icon, you'll get an hourglass cursor for 2 seconds and then nothing.

QUESTION TO ADMIN OR SUPPORT:

Are these products "tied together" and what would cause this?

Actually, what normally is reported is that the security codes were changed and the "serial number mismatch..." error appears. This appears to be a random event... happens to some, not to others, and we have never seen it at MTU, and cannot re-create it. I'm not familiar with the hourglass appearing then disappearing.

Did you reboot after installing?

Do you have all your Wndows updates done?

The products are not tied together at all. The only thing we can guess that might cause this is in some past versions of the products, the InstallShield UNINSTALL program was set to be removed somehow that should not happen. We have studied our current InstallShield codes extensively and find no connection at all today.

Install the misbehaving programs again and they should run.

If removing and reinstalling only Hoster affect Microstudio, vogone & khpro then they are in fact, tied together. Perhaps not directly, but if they're sharing any setting or parameter put in place by a different program, they're linked. Uninstalling and reinstalling Hoster should in no way affect any other software on my system... including software sold by you. (i.e. this is your problem with the installation disabling software, not mine.)

This has absolutely nothing to do with it. The associated programs worked perfectly fine until your installation disabled them. It is not a Windows problem.

Since this software was originally installed by MTU on this laptop I purchased from you -- I have no disc with the original software versions I purchased to reinstall.
Please mail me a cd with the proper software to reinstall.

We'll get a CDROM out Monday with the versions purchased, and any free upgrades.
