New Plextor

My current plextor a PX716A went bad and I sent it to Plextor for repair. In return they sent me a new PX740A. How soon will this recorder be compatible with your software. I need to know the answer to this question rather quickly. Thank you

Here is another post by MTU on the Plextor 740A.

Sorry,
This dirve does not work with our software. As this drive is made by Benq and then marketed by Plextor.

This drive does not support CD+G reading and Writing at the hardware level, this is what our software currently requires.

We are working on making it work, but this drive is giving us alot of problems, and may never give the graphics correctly.

The Plextor 716 models work perfect and are a much superior drive to this model.

I'd call Plextor and request they replace your 716A with a... 716A, or at least a 716 drive.

The 740 is FAR inferior for working with CDG discs. Even when we can support it, importing won't be as clean as the 716.

Call them and require an equal replacement. They are good folks and I'm sure they will work with you.
