Tv Display Vs Flat Panel Monitor
I was wondering how many of you are using a flat panel LCD display instead of using a TV for your singers? TV's are heavy and bulky so I thought about switching. I have the typical TV stand that most of us have and my LCD monitor will not fit in it. Is there a stand that would work? Any thoughts on TV vs. LCD Monitor?

What kind of stand are you using that holds your monitor securely? The typical Karaoke TV stand does not work.

Most of the TV stands are adjustable and will size to fit the flat screen footprint. I am using an "Audio 2000's" model 4115 for my 17" LCD flat screen monitor. I am using a couple plastic spring loaded hand clamps that can be purchased at any hardware store for a couple bucks. I place the clamps on the backside of the monitor. They are out of the way and can't be seen.

TV vs LCD
I would love to switch to LCD but don't think I could afford to replace it. I currently use a 13" flat screen TV on a stand. This one has hit the floor twice :e (drunk dancers) but still does ok for now. I can imagine what would happen if an LCD hit the floor like that.:f
Think I'll stick to TV until someone comes up with a portable shield (SciFi):g |
I switched to a 15" LCD for the singers. I use a wall mount bracket which is attached to my standard Karaoke TV stand. Works and looks great

The places I run karaoke regularly already have big screen tv's there. On one nighters and such, I use a small 13" tv, and stand if necessary. One, I agree that a tv is less expensive to replace ie: drunk dancers; and next, how do you connect the singer's monitor from your computer? Right now I come out of the computer and have an RCA adpter for the RCA input for the tv. How do you do this with an additional LCD monitor? The ceiling drop down version sounds great, but yiou never know what you have to work with until you get there.

I use a 17" LCD...never go back to TV.
LCD works great for VCDs and DVDs as well. I use this POLE and STAR BASE from this site: http://www.ergoindemand.com/computer...le_mount.htm#2 They sell VESA Brackets and POLE Clamps, which I bought, also. Cost is about $340.00, but I like the STAINLESS STEEL 2"x4' POLE. To hook-up your LCD and In-House TVs, you will need a GrandTec GEZ-1000 VGA to TV Converter located here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...791&CatId=1428 Cost is $49.99 This has VGA IN from your 2nd HEAD OUT, of your DUAL HEAD Video Card. Then, you will need a 15 or 25 Ft. VGA EXTENSION Cable to get from the VGA OUT of the GrandTec GEZ-1000 VGA to TV Converter to the VGA IN of your LCD "Singers" Monitor. About $22 to $25 located here (MALE to FEMALE): http://www.vpi.us/cable-vga-g.html Then, the GrandTec GEZ-1000 has an S-VIDEO OUT and a RCA VIDEO OUT. Scenario 1 - COAX ONLY To Venues Other TVs Use an RCA Cable from: GrandTec RCA OUT --> RF MOD RCA VIDEO IN Use a COAX Cable from: RF MOD COAX OUT --> Other TVs COAX IN (Set Other TVs to Channel 3 or 4) Scenario 2 - RCA and COAX To Venues Other TVs Use an RCA "Y" adapter (Single MALE --> 2 FEMALE) to: SINGLE MALE End of "Y" Adapter --> RF MOD RCA VIDEO IN Use an RCA Cable from: GrandTec RCA OUT --> ONE of the "Y" Adapter's FEMALE RCA Connectors Use a LONGER RCA Cable from: The OTHER "Y" Adapter's FEMALE RCA Connector --> Other TV RCA VIDEO IN Use a COAX Cable from: RF MOD COAX OUT --> Other TVs COAX IN (Set Other TVs to Channel 3 or 4) Scenario 3 - RCA ONLY (one OTHER TV) To Venues Other TVs Use an RCA Cable from: GrandTec RCA OUT --> Other TVs RCA VIDEO IN or Use an S-VIDEO Cable from: GrandTec S-VIDEO OUT --> Other TVs S-VIDEO IN Scenario 4 - RCA ONLY (Two OTHER TVs) To Venues Other TVs Use an RCA "Y" adapter (Single MALE --> 2 FEMALE) to: SINGLE MALE Connector of "Y" --> GrandTec RCA VIDEO OUT Use TWO RCA Cables from: TWO FEMALE RCA Connectors of the "Y" --> TWO OTHER TVs RCA VIDEO IN There are MANY other Scenarios, but any of the above 4 should do what you need done. If you don't know what an RF MODULATOR and an RCA Connector are, then, I wouldn't attempt to connect to any Venues TVs. |
