Questions about Hoster Lite

I'm thinking of purchasing Hoster Lite to use on my personal karaoke system. Right now, I am using a CAVS 202 player with SCDG's and I'm getting tired of swapping out disks. So I'm looking for some program where I can download all my songs to my computer and play them from there. I've heard great things about Hoster and Hoster Lite but I have some questions. Is this the correct forum/place to ask questions about the software to help me decide if I want to purchase it? If this is not the correct forum/place, I would great appreciate somone pointing me to the right place.

Thanks!

Okay, great! Here are some of my questions so far:

What do the abbreviations such as BIN and KMA mean?

About how long does it take to download a SCDG say with 800 songs on it to Hoster Lite?

Is it as simple as putting a SCDG into my burner and clicking a few buttons in Hoster Lite and the songs start downloading automatically?

I only use my karaoke player for personal use and I already have three song books printed up (one sorted by artist, one by title, and one by disk number) so the fact that Hoster Lite does not print a song book doesn't matter to me. But how will I go about making Hoster Lite number the songs the same as I have them numbered in my song book?

Guess that's enough questions for now.

Thanks!

Well that's a bummer that Hoster can't use SCDG's. Guess I'm stuck with just making backups of my SCDG's and continuing to use my CAVS player. Thanks for letting me know this.

Even on the cavs forum they admit there is currently no way to convert them to a more universally used format. At this point I think having them develop a decoder for scdg is your only hope.
