Multisession button

What is the multi-session button and what exactly does it do, i.e., when is it utilized in the program?:c When do we have to click on it? What exactly is the definition of a multisession disc as opposed to a non-multisession one?

lmcmains February 13th, 2006 01:04 PM

Multi-session is a type of copy pertection. SC, CB and Top Tunes use it that I know of. It is an extra track just a few seconds long. To import the disc into Hoster you need to click on it. Then you can import all tracks. Look it up in the manual. It tells a little more about it.

larry;

It seems that on mine it clicks itself on all the time by some kind of default. Is this normal? I always import correctly. Just keeping an eye on hindsight.

I said it wrong. It will show up when you have a multi-session disc.

I have noticed that it seems to think most all discs are multisession rather they are or not, but it is working.

I would say this is an oversight for now, as it does work correctly.

I know all the new Sound Choice, Chartbuster and Top Tunes are multisession. There are most likley more than that. Thanks to MTU we don't have to make a copy to import them now

Actually I've got a Oct or Nov (don't remember off hand) CB that is not multisession, I don't know if it's an oversight or if CB is dropping it as an inefectual copy protection.

I have the same problem it shows all my disks are multisession but they are not and it will not import the last track HELP!:e

Maybe they have stopped using multisession. Sound Choice is still using it. I have the newest SC and it's still multisession

S. Parks February 14th, 2006 02:12 PM

Occaisionally Chartbuster "forgets" to add multi-session as I have seen their disc without it from time to time; even in a coll ection of dics where 28 of the 30 disc would have it and 2 would not. :r

bryant February 14th, 2006 02:15 PM

On a curious note, I have been importing from 3.30 (not supposed to get last track on multisession). However, I have
gotten all my "last " tracks on all my discs with 100's of CB discs? Why would that be?

ddouglass February 14th, 2006 04:07 PM

3.30 does import last trac on multisession CDs. It was 3.12 that didn't import them. 3.301 fixed some other problems that were caused in 3.30. :)

happnine February 14th, 2006 09:29 PM

I still can't import last tracks with 3.301 what is wrong? Everydisk i put in all come up as multisession but all tracks play fine in windows media and all show up just don't show when imported to Hoster

Beavis February 14th, 2006 09:59 PM

maybe its your cd-rom

happnine February 14th, 2006 10:37 PM

I Can't Get It To work , why would it only be the last track and not all

ddouglass February 14th, 2006 11:49 PM

happnine - are you counting the tracks from the list of songs written on the CD or case? Or are counting the tracks as viewed in windows explorer? Explorer will show 1 extra track on those multisession discs which is not a song but coding for the multisession.

bryant February 15th, 2006 08:22 AM

I'm like Beavis. A big believer and "break down and get all the right (top of the line) peripherals" that you know will work. Once you start messing around with the "maybe-might -work" unique pieces of equipment, you never know what you're gonna get. Right Beav.

Beavis February 15th, 2006 08:43 AM

i remember in the beginning (about 2001) when i bought a video card that was only powered by ATI rather than built by ATI as MTU advised to buy........i thought i knew it all.......i was wrong !!!!

can you beleive it ?????

bryant February 15th, 2006 09:08 AM

Bingo !!

Multisession

Acording to tech support. The Multisession button is part of the new programing that is activated automaticly when importing multisession disks. It's programing was designed to overcome the video problems previously encountered when importing the last track on a disk.
