private messages and emailing other Forum members
 

I have some information on a private message I would like to retrieve but cannot because admin has disabled private messages for quite some time now. Do you(admin) do this often or is this a permanent thing, if not, can admin allow the use of private messaging again.

I am sorry we cannot re-enable Private Messaging. :s

I have enabled FORM based emailing so your emails remain private and hidden.

To use this, you must enable emailing.

1. Click the "usercp" button at the top left.
2. Click the "Edit Options" link.
3. Find the "Messaging and Notification" box and enable emails from both Administrators and Other members.
4. Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

To email someone, left click the round icon found to the right of their Forum/Usename in any thread. In the menu that appears, click the "send email to [usename]". A Web Email Form will appear that allows you to enter your Subject and message.

You do not see their email address. The Forum will email them. If they reply, it will come back to the Forum and the Forum will send you an email. No one sees anyone's email address. That is consistent with MTU's Privacy Policy.

DOES NOT WORK!

GDUNS just sent me a test email and his email address is included.

It told me I could email Gary by:

1-A link was provided, or
2-His email address was provided.

Don't worry Gary, I deleted it without saving your address.

I'm going to disable option to receive emails as soon as I send this off.

I really don't mind if you have my e-mail address. It seems that may be the only way us beta testers can confer with each other without filling up the beta testers forum with a bunch of idle chatter.

That may not be a problem for me any longer. I can't access the Beta forums.

I strongly suspect I have been relieved of my Beta duties.Too outspoken.

No way to tell you other than right here out in the open, which will probably get me in even more trouble...banned maybe...that's life.
