Walk-in requests from those that have their own cdg's?

When singers bring in their own cdg's and we need to import them, does the program save them to the database permanently and does this continually fill up space of kma's that may not be needed because you might already have them anyway from your own previous cdg imports? What do you guys do about this situation, leave them there or delete them(and if so, how)?

The full version of Hoster temporarily imports it for the use for that one show and then when you shut down officially the files are removed is my understanding- me I use my dvd player that also plays cdg.

Thanx dannyG

May i assume that you can never enter that person in the playlist order of singers however? That would be the only slight disadvantage there.

Danny G again

I do notice that you have to go through the entire import process like you do when you do import and save your own discs. It appears that it is in fact must be storing it and the ID numbers with it. Can you clear this up for me. (I am on the Demo version right now). Also, can you advise me on which to order (the internet delivery or the CD version of hoster)?

That is not true. For 1 you do not change screens, you import from the playlist screen, you do not lookup disk id, you do not assign a book id #.
The only info required is a track# and a song name (I usally use the track # for song name). When the song has played completely through or Hoster is closed the file disappears forever

As for internet or CD delivery it's really what works for you. If you'ge got internet and a relatively easy way of moving files from the internet computer to the show computer I'd do that, if not then I'd order the CD. Same difference.

Internet delivery

I see mindonstrike. Thanx for the info. Tell me this, however, I have to make sure that my laptop works completely with hoster, correct. Because once it is installed on one computer that is the only place it can be registered, is that correct?

Hoster on more than 1 computer

I am fairly new to Hoster also, but you'll love it. If you get the full verison of Hoster (it's worth the extra price) then you can put it on 2 machines. I used my desktop to download, practice and upload CDGs to my USB harddrive. I also have Hoster installed on my laptop that I use to run my Shows and connect my USB harddrive that now contains all the songs. The only thing left to do is re-build the database so your laptop knows what your desktop knows. You may need to read the manual several times like me and I still don't understand it all, but the answers are there and this Forum helps a lot too. Good luck.

Thanx a bunch SkyBird

I plan on doing exactly what you are doing with it. However, will I be able to install a secong Hoster on another laptop I may purchase in the future. What dya suggest as the ordering medium, as I am getting ready to do that right away? Internet delivery or CD delivery. And what may be your reasons?
Thanx,
Bryant

Hoster installs on 2 machines (your show computer and a backup).
Hoster-Lite will install on 1 machine only and will not permit use of the singers disk import on the main screen or the songbook creation feature but is otherwise fully functional.

Internet delivery you will have it as fast as you can download it. Then save it to a CD for safe keeping. If you order the cd it will take a few days and cost you $10.00 more. So it is up to you how you get it.
