Older HP 9100 cd drive?

When I loaded the last two upgrades my cd drive no longer works for cdg's. Has anyone else experienced the same results? My newer Sony drive works with the upgrade but then the older Microstudio does not work with the newer drive. I only have room for one drive and I use both programs what can I do?

The only drive that I would purchase would be the Plextor PX-716 Models.

This is the only one that currently works for CD+G.

Drives?

So what you are saying that anyone that had a good working program now has to go and buy new drives again just to make the software work?
I would think you could keep the old cd-drives working with the upgrade just like they did in the older versions? Doesn't seem right to take something that works great and with a upgrade make it useless!

The new Hoster is using a totally different way of talking to the drives. This will be put into Microstudio, but it has taken us 1.5 years to do it for Hoster. There is no telling how much longer it will take to make it work in Microstudio with the writing ability, which we don't have yet.

It will be probably close to 4-6 months before we get it in there.
