Trying to use laptop CD/DVD burner

Upgraded to 3.3, Hoster crashes everytime I try to use my laptop burner. It still works with my external Plextor of course, but won't even read a disc with the frive built in the computer. I read the part about the possiblity of inferior importing, but crashing all together? I tried re-installing, but still got the same result. Any suggestions?

Did yours just close Hoster when attempting to import? That's what mine did. Maybe if we list the brand and model number of our cdrom drives, they can check into it. I don't expect that they can make them all work. It would be nice to not have to lug around the Plextor. Man, are we getting spoiled or what?

Keep up the good work MTU!

Basically, the import progress screen shows up, you here the disc stat to spin, and then within 30 second you get a message stating that Hoster has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. My type of CD/DVD drive is a Matshita UJDA740 DVD/CDRW. Hoster still works perfectly with my other external plextor when I select it as the defalt, but the new feature of other than plextor drives doesn't appear to work with this one. Guess I have to keep carrying my plextor around until this feature is perfected. :r

Did you Click "Software Decoding" on your non-Plextor Drive?

If so, try using the non-Plextor Drive with the "Software Decoding" unchecked.

Actually I tried both ways with the same result.

The DVD/CD-RW drive I have in my laptop thaT doesn't work is a Teac DW-244E-A. It appears to be a popular one used in laptops.

We hear you. We expected to run into problems even after 12 Beta Testing rounds, but we also didn't expect a crash. We'll have to look into that quickly. NO CRASHES ALLOWED! :f :g
