hard drive capacity

i'm new to computers, and am loading cdg's in hoster. i just started to load and before i get too far, wanted input on whether or not to load onto external hard drive initially (and how to divert songs to it) or just load into laptop hard drive/ 100gb capacity on laptop/ 300 gb on external. i have about 15,000 songs to load 1/3 vcd's- 2/3 cdg's. need specific instruction to divert to external hard drive if it's necessary. thx- all previous help was a lifesaver:?

put them all on your external, then get a back up external hard drive and copy and paste them to the extra external hard drive.

you just have to rebuild the database and point it to the external hard drive.

if you do as i say you will be a happy camper. if you dont, when your hard drive fails, you will reflect back on this thread and say i should have listened.
