billyo June 29th, 2005 11:38 PM

I just did an upgrade to 3.110..do i still have to register ?

Beavis June 30th, 2005 07:23 AM

no, just make sure you are connected to the net before you do the install.

:) I upgraded to 3.110 last night. Everything seems to be working great. If you are just doing an upgrade you don't have to be connected to the internet.

That is correct.

The progress bar may say it is transmitting data to MTU, and for a bit looks like nothing is happening. Once it determines you are in fact doing an upgrade, it will proceed with the installation, internet connection or not. I've even told my Norton to block the transmission, just to see, and it still installed.

having trouble getting upgrade

OK, I am beyond new here. I just got 3.108 and now there is 3.11. when I click on the "free" button, it doesn't do anything and says I still have 3.108?

Um, what the heck am I missing here? First time on the system, brand new to MTU and I am not normally lost in new programs.

<sigh> I feel really stupid here, gang.

cannot install Hoster

Purchased Hoster 3.110 -downloaded to a CD - put in non-internet PC (Windows XP) - created floppy disk - did "runme.exe" on internet PC - started install program again on non-internet PC - with floppy disk in A drive. Get message: "The program you are installing does not match the product registered on the floppy disk." - and the install stops.

Have tried rebooting - didn't work. Then ran the runme.exe program on another floppy - but got the same message.

Use your download link from from your e-mail that you got from MTU when you bought Hoster. It will take you to the new version. :)

Larry, thanks... Yeah-slow as a snail -- I only had to re-read the instructions a few dozen times, but I finally got myself connected and upgraded. <sigh> I normally am not that dense.

I had saved the original e-mail in a correspondence folder separate from my normal business correspondence... Why? So I wouldn't delete it, of course! LOL

It wasn't deleted, and again, I do appreciate the tips.

Regards,
Connie

am having the same problem with my install. yet to hear back on email to support. I'm sure I will though as brian has been very good when I had a problem with Home Producer or Microstudio. I forget which but they fixed the problem rather quickly.

Install successful

I received an email response - saying that I needed to install the latest Windows XP updates. I took my PC to an internet connection - logged on and downloaded a couple of updates - and then I was able to install the Hoster with no problems.

Hope this works for you too!

The Upgrade policy is located at: http://www.mtu.com/support/info.htm#Upgrades

It is only free is you still have your original email, with your Download Link in it.

So you will need to purchase the upgrade for $19.95 from www.mtu.com.
