Error message launching Hoster-Demo

I'm running Win 2k fully updated/patched on a Celeron 533, with 256MB of ram. I've downloaded and installed your Hoster demo and it dies as soon as I try launching it. This is the error I receive:

"Hoster-demo - Ordinal Not Found
The ordinal 11 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSOUND.dll."

Any pointers? I would love to try this demo and purchase the product VERY SOON!

Thanks...

Dsound Error

Savannah,

This is a standard error when your Direct X version is out of date. You can go to your windows update and make sure you download the latest version of DirectX (9.0c).

Reboot and run the Hoster demo again this should take care of the error. Let me know otherwise.

Sincerely,

Doug C

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. It worked perfectly. However, I have a new dilemma:)

It doesn't like my CD player, a Sony CD-RW CRX230ED 4YS1. I don't understand this because I've been testing several Karaoke players and they all have been able to run from this CD player. Any words of wisdom?

Thanks again :)

As for now this Sony drive you are using is not supported for an individual track recording which is what Hoster does.

To see the individual tracks on a CDG disc you need a Plextor in order to grab all the audio and graphic data. We are working on an upgrade to this code that will be out in about 3-6 weeks that will allow working on non-plextor drives, but we do not know what the quality outcome will be at this point.

If you wish you can email me at sales at mtu.com and I can send you a demo file and database to plug into the Hoster demo so that you can evaluate the play and songbook operations. The import will have to wait or you can purchase a Plextor drive.

Talk soon.

Doug C
