Trouble Rebuilding Database

Hi all!

I have Hoster running on a laptop with my KMA files stored on a 180GB external hard drive. One day I turned on my laptop and my external drive letter had been changed from F: to G:. (I actually think it was my own fault. I plugged in a thumb drive before i turned the drive on) Anyway, I went back into windows and changed the drive letter back to F:, well, now when i try to pull up my KMA files it only pulls up about 30. I have over 4000. I tried rebuilding the database SEVERAL times, but to no avail. I also deleted the database in the Hoster folder, but still nothing. It keeps only pulling up the same 30 songs. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help!

are all your kma's sitting in the external drive ?? meaning did you search for them and see them with your eyes ?

Of course! I know my way around computers and yes I know to actually look for the files.

When you went through TOOLS and opened BUILD SONGS DATABASE, did you happen to notice, in the SELECT FOLDER window, if the path was correct to where your KMA files should be stored?

Yes, that was one of the first things I did when I noticed something was wrong. I even went as far as removing the folder and re-adding it, and still nothing helped. I'm at a loss. I have a show tomorrow (Saturday, 5/14) and I need to have these files. Help!!! Please!! :f

Have you tried doing a system restore with the external drive attached, back to a time when all was working ? That'e gotten me out of a jam a time or two.

Really? I will try it. I didn't think that doing a system restore would effect the external hard drive.

Anything's worth a shot at this point!:?

try re- installing hoster also.

Did you get it to work? If you put the correct folder in the .kma files in this folder will get built into the database.

If you have your songs in a folder within a folder, then you must select the Folder that the actual .kma files are stored in, or it will not see them.

Never got it to work

Bryan,

It never worked for me. I even tried re-installing hoster 3.08 and now it's telling me the following:

Your serial number does not match your registration information. Please reinstall Hoster and try again.

I'm at a loss.:?

Could someone please help? I'm back to using 3.000. I got it to install. but when i try to upgrade to 3.108 it tells me that it is registered to 2 computers! It keeps getting worse and worse.
