Re: Back-Up
Yes you can used the kma's from an external drive. You would need to rebuild your song database and point to the external drive letter. At the present time I use an external usb with my laptop-kma's are not on my laptop.

Re: Back-Up
Considering the amount of time it takes to import the KMA's to start with, it's ALWAYS a good idea to backup your KMA files.
All that is required to get them restored from an external drive is to copy the KMA files back then rebuild the database. |
Re: Back-Up
MimiLee is right. MTU's KMA format contains the audio and graphic/lyric data, just like a CDG disc track does.
If you make a BACKUP of all your songs, to an internal or external USB drive, then you don't want to ADD that to your current Songs Database... you would have duplicates of everything. When running the Build Songs Database command, which you may NEVER need to do (see the Songs Database section in the manual), where there are duplicate BookIDs in different KMA files, only the FIRST one added will appear. Duplicates do NOT get added to the Songs Database. |
