I am gettin more and more Data sputs at the beginning of the completed timed CD+G file. When played back with any thing there is about 1/4 second of data, then the music starts. Any wave file seems to do it. I can load text and a wave and then sequence. Keep KHP open all the time, write the file and have it the sput. Re tap the seq and resave and not have it the next time. Other than text centering and a built in text editor, it works. Text is clear bright and easy to sequence.

Okay, I'll bite: What's a "SPUT?"

No Bite more like bits, bunches.

The SPUT is a noise when the player starts a song. It lasts only a fraction of a second. I have noticed that I hear it when I tap the text in KHP and play it back. When the CD+G file is recorded to disk with Microstudio the time the SPUT lasts is much longer.
Now what's the big TA DO about a little sput. When the sound file is played back with a system running about 400 watts or so and the volume is not down, that SPUT can do damage to speakers and ears.
It's data that is played as sound.

Interesting... no one else has reported this problem. Thus, I'm wondering if you are using some type of wave file that has an extra header we are not detecting.

Can you quickly send us a CDROM with several of your .wav files that create SPUTS? If we can create it, we can remove it.

Send to:

PS: Don't wait to do this. We are moving very fast toward KHP 2.0 release. First beta should be out next week. The Microstudio bug hunt has delayed KHP's release.

Data Sputs (THE FILE!)

The problems is not necessarily a Microstudio file write problem. It has to do with the playback of a file seemingly written by KHP. I can not get the SPUT while playing back in ME. There again it seems to be a Windows 2000 problem. Occasionally the SPUT may contain not just raw data but what seems to be erroneous sound. The occurrence of sound seems to be after at least 1 playback.
HINT, HINT
(Could it be a empty playback buffer playback before sound starts.) (If it only happens in 2000 maybe you could pad your playback buffer with a silence waveform for the buffer len on each playback.)

I don't see the need to send a disk, but if you want me to make a zip file with the original wave, the KHP .cdg, and the Microstudio write and read back to file. I will enclose it in a SDA and send it to a FTP of your choice. (Doesn't require a disk, stamp or envelope.) I will try to keep the file under 8 megs.

Sorry I missed this one...

Without an example, there is nothing we can do to even look at your "sput". Please just email it to me at dave@mtu.com. In the email please detail what the problem is so I can forward it on to our programmer for review.

Thanks!
