Plextor will read write but not import
Trying to help my friend who has Hoster but doesn't do forums:c He has hoster installed on his external hard drive instead of his desktop. It has worked fine through many imports but now it tells him the save to folder doesn't exist. We have rebuilt the database but that doesn't help. It will import to the "c" drive as I tried that. What I see is that the save to folder shows G:\Songs\. There should be no \ at the end of the songs directory but I cannot get it out. I tried adding a folder but it keeps on with the \. Any ideas?

Re: Plextor will read write but not import
yes it is the weird thing is the slash it puts at the end of the save to folder for g:\songs\ but not if I change it to c:\songs

Re: Plextor will read write but not import
Have you tried doing a restore back to a time when it was working?
That should restore the settings. I'd have the external drive plugged in and on when I did the restore. If the restore doesn't work, you might try deleting the folders in the SELECT SOURCE FOLDER window, reboot, then go back into REBUILD DATABASE, and re-establish the path using select folder. George |
Re: Plextor will read write but not import
Go to the Import Tracks dialog. Click on the Select Folder or Save to Folder and change this to a good directory. This should then fix your problem.
Also, it is a very bad idead to Install hoster on an External Hard drive. You really need to Install Hoster in the Default Location, this is the Program itself, it will not run on any other computer even though it is installed on an external drive. Tell him to reinstall it in the C:\Program Files\Micro Technoloyg Unlimited\Hoster folder, which is default. He can then change the Save to Folder on the Import Tracks Dialog above to his external drive to store the songs on the external drive. This is the safest way to use the program. |
