Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

Hi ,you may recall me having all the trouble with my desktop not re-installing hoster ,which is all ok now. I have had to reload windows onto my laptop cause of massive error messages ,and now i have fixed windows my hoster will not re-install. Once again it thinks im useing a different comp (if only i could afford 2 laptops ,he he) ,it is a laptop everything is built in so there cannot be anything different on it except for a new wirless network card. Can you please reset the reg for my laptop. I tried to ghost the hardrive image before whipeing but it would not recognise my external hardrive.

many thanks nath.

p.s. sorry to be a pain agian.
only the second time i have ever had to format my laptop. :s

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

Nathan,
You must run all of the Windows Updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com before you try to Install it. This is your problem.

Also make sure you are installing version 3.006 instead of version 2.209, which you just tried to install. Throw this old version away only use the 3.006 version, as it has fixes to this issue in it.

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

Hi , I done as you said bryan and still no luck ,it still thinks its a different laptop even though i have installed every single microsoft update. What i was wondering was when i re-installed my copy of win xp that came with my laptop, it never asked me to enter the keycode this time (which i thought was strange) could it be that it thinks its a different windows cause of not entering the keycode?

thanks nath.

P.s. If i can get it working again i think i'll have to make a back-up image of my laptop hardrive. lol. :?

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

Nathan, making a BACKUP of your entire disc, using GHOST... was what you agreed to before. It you have again reformated your hard drive and reinstalled Windows, what do you expect us to do?

Read the prior emails and Forum posts for your answer. :f

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

Ah no you miss-understand me , i have made a ghost image of my desktop pc which is all working fine ,but i never made a ghost image of my laptop hardrive. When i pluged in my external harddrive to my laptop to go and make a backup it did not want to know my external drive. So i took the risk of formating thinking to myself ,i have not changed anything on my laptop so hoster should just go back in fine. oh no no no ,i thought wrong same problem as my desktop pc used to get ,thinks i am trying to install on a different comp again (arrrr). Why does it always do this to me? Can you reset the reg for my laptop please? then i will back the drive up to dvd or something.

many many thanks nath. :?

Hi guys ,still waiting to see if you will reset my laptop reg for me or if you have a solotion as to why it will still not re-install. Could it be that windows did not ask me for the cd key when i installed it?

thanks nath. :?

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

This has been fixed Nathan.

Beavis,
The ID doesn't actually change when you Reinstall Windows. I have proven this, so this is due to the clients changing more than that.

Think about how long you have had the software, and how few problems you have had with it. Am I correct? I don't remember you ever having to ask me to do anything for you.

Re: Laptop hoster will not re-install anymore

i agree bryan,

i was just wondering incase anyone asked here.

i have been problem free for a long time people. the only problem i had was inserting my old registration #, i had to ask (MTU) for it again. once i had the new reg# upgrading is a breeze !!!

just make sure you are connected to the net.

BTW: i built my computer only for hoster and pcdjfx.....there is nothing else on my computer! i always get all windows updates before upgrading versions of hoster.

i am problem free...................for now :g :g :g :g
