MicroStudio Won't Open
 
I've been using MicroStudio for several years and I love the program. My problem however, is that I came to use it today and it won't open. It shows that it's running when I do the CTR-ALT-DEL.
I've tried re-installing it, and also went online to download the most current version of the program, but with no luck. I've tried closing all other programs that are running in the background, but that also did nothing to help. Windows 98SE AMD Athlon 2200 processor 224.0 Ram
Please help!!!

If you minimized the program before you closed it, this could happen. What you should try is open the program, if you see it on the bottom Taskbar, stating Microstudio. Right click on this and tell it to Maximize. Then see if this works.

Thanks for the reply...I just got my computer back from a Technician that was working on it, and after 2 hours of trying to uninstall and reinstall the program, it still won't work. It will open after about 5 or 10 minutes, but it locks up my computer and it can never see my Plextor writers which have always been on my computer and still work great. After spending $100 in computer shop labor, I've just totally taken it off my computer and am very frustrated.

Try uninstalling the Software by using the Remove Function. Then reboot the system. Once this has been done, reinstall the software. Then reboot the system again and try it again and see what happens.

I and the Technician did that several times, we also installed the program on a computer at his shop and it worked great, read all the drives...no problems. It just won't work on mine anymore and he can't find any other problems with my computer. Other programs I've had for years still see my Plextor drives as before. One more note, right after the program is reinstalled, it will open as normal 1 or 2 times (doesn't see the drives however) and then it takes about 5 minutes or so to open after that, still not seeing the drives. I tried doing the uninstall, restart and reinstall just before I responded to this message, but to no avail.

Something on this System has been damaged. You might look into formatting the system and reloading it to make it work again.

I do believe that I'm going to have to crash my system and re-install everything. Today I tried to re-install the program again, when things didn't work as they should again, I decided to see if it would Repair the installation instead of Removing it, but when I tried to do that or Modify it, both of those options completely locked up my machine.

I would agree to my Last Post, it definetly sounds like you need to format this system and start over. You have something that is damaged or maybe even a virus on this computer.

Why not try to restore system to a previous date where it was working properly before doing a complete new installation?

I had my computer crashed and did a re-installation. Everything is working great at this point.
