Error Message When Trying to Burn Discs After Re-Install
 

My computor crashed a week ago and after re-installing microstudio 2.517, I tried to burn a compilation disc in the custom program. After inserting a blank disc I got the following message:
Error: 'Start DAO Recording' command failed on device 1:0:0
Disc type is not supported

I am using a Plextor DVDR PX-708A, which I bought with the program and I have never had this problem before.
Where do I go from here?

Also, why don't you upgrade to Microstudio 2.610? It's free for you. All you need to do is find your download link in the installation instructions email and click it, save it, then install it. Do it NOW! :w

Same problem
 

I have the exact same problem as before, only this time I do have the current version Of microstudio. I get the exact same message as before.
I have downloaded and tried all the posibilities with current ASPI drivers, but to no avail. Where do I go from here?

If you go and READ the Error #5 stated by Admin, it states this:

5) Error: 'TEST UNIT READY' command failed on device 1:1:0. Device contains no disc or is not ready. (04h 00h 02h 02h 3Ah 00h

or it might appear as:

Error: 'Start DAO Recording' command failed on device 3:0:0 Disc type is not supported.

ANALYSIS: This occurs with any of the DVD-/+R drives. This includes the Plextor PX-W708, PX-W712 Px-W716 DVD Recorder Models. Some users have seen this when installing some Printer software drivers.

SOLUTION: Remove Roxio EZ CD Creator 6 and Nero 6 or any other Burning program from starting at boot. Most of the time you can go into the programs settings and turn off the option to start the program at Windows Startup.

The problem is that you have a Program starting when your computer boots up that is causing the problem. You will have to find this program and remove it or disable it from starting on Boot. This is the only way to fix this, it is on your system.
