error -6002

Downloaded the demo. Can't install it. I follow the instructions of, but still see "error code: -6002". Please help.

Instructions are (I wish I could copy and paste the language)

-close any running programs
-empty temporary folder
-check internet connection (for what??)

Try again
or words to that effect.

Task Manager shows no running applications (except folder with demo file and the internet connection-have tried internet on and off)
Used disc cleanup and have no temporary files
Don't know what to check about the internet.

Re: error -6002

I've never heard of the demo not installing and running.

I'd say to download it again as you probably got a bad download.

Re: error -6002

That was going to be my next step. I have erased uninstalled download and am downloading again.

Actually, this will be my third attempt. I aborted my first attempt at a download, then went through the process again and initiated a second download. I searched to see if I had downloaded the second attempt in another folder but did not find it. I'm pretty sure that I tried to install my second attempt. Perhaps it melded with the first attempt creating a bad file?

Thanks again.

Re: error -6002

i would go into your the micro folder and delete everything manually.

this is the file:
C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited

just delete the microtech folder

Re: error -6002

Deleting the Micro Technology Unlimited folder or everything in it would mess up all the other MTU Programs.

All that needs to be removed from the MTU folder is anything referenced to Hoster Demo; any Hoster Demo Folder and the Hoster Demo.exe file(whatever it's named), then download fresh and see if that clears up the situation.

Re: error -6002

What this means is that something has gotten corrupted on your system, while it was trying to Install. It is now damaged. You need to go and clean out the Windows Temp folder, this should be where the files get extracted from the hosterdemosetup.exe file that you downloaded from our website. Once you do this, it should work.

Here is what Installshield states about this error: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110646

We don't have this Installation set as a Web Install. When you download the file from our website, are you saving it to your computer or just clicking Open or Run? If you are doing this, then this is your problem. You need to click Save, save it to your computer. Then once it is on your computer, run the program from your local system.

Re: error -6002

Always save downloads first. Anyway, a new download proved successful. Thanks for all the input. Now I got other stuff in other threads about the demo (keep everybody on their toes, you know) :g

Thanks again.
