playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

I had a goofy thing happen during my first Hoster show tonight. I was playing a .wma file, and I noticed that the file that was playing was not showing in the play list...it was gone, yet it was still playing. I had actually just looked up to see how much time was left in the song and it wasn't there. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure you didn't double-click the file when you were browsing your folder for it. That might just open your default player (WMP or ?) and start playing the song without adding it to Hoster's playlist. Just a thought.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

I am positive that did not happen. I had the song queued up in hoster. It was in manual mode so I had to click play to start the song.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

This is odd, we have not had anyone ever mention this problem before. I would say that it probably was a one time thing that happened for now, but let us know if you see it happen again.

No problem! It wasn't a big deal. I just thought I would let you know. I love my hoster! It was a huge hit last night and will probably be even bigger tonight. My Thursday show is my biggest of the week, and they have their own sound system. Boy are they going to be surprised when all I walk in with tonight is my laptop bag, tv and lights.

G-Force
wallymeister here again
I thought that was probably a long shot but just thought it was a possibility.

Also, and I'm not sure if this is even possible but could the wma have been deleted from playlist while playing (accidentally of course) but the song keeps playing. Again, I'm just trying to come up with possibilities. Maybe admin could answer if that could have been a possibility.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

Can a song be deleted forma playlist while its still playing? I didn't think thats possible. If it can, that may possibly be what happened. I can't remember if I deleted anything from the playlist at that time.

Just tried to delete several while playing. I was not able to do it the song just played like it should and remained visable on the screen.

I have had it happen a few times. But have not been able to duplicate it. I know it's a accidental slip of hitting certain keys but not sure which ones or in which order. I couldn't stop the song either; had to let it play out and then everything was fine.

Re: playing .wma file but play list shows as played and SND glitching.

Well it happened again. An audio song showed up as "played" while it was still playing. I couldn't stop it or skip it while it was playing. This happened 2 or 3 times last night.
My SND was glitching on me too. I am running 3.005 on a 3.0 Ghz laptop with a gig of ram. The SND wouldn't update at times when I hit the snd button, and other times it would show the first three singer names fromthe beginning of the night. I ended up turning it off because it wasn't even close to being right.

its worked flawlessly for me (the snd).

did you try a reboot ? and did it solve the problem ?

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

No I didn't. I didn't want to disrupt the flow of the show. It may have been a freak occurrance. If it happens again I will let you know.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

i use PCDJFX for music. i have never had a problem running both programs at the same time.

the only problem i had is with the ad cd track from the audiance. seems when i use pcdj, hoster wont recognize the cd-rom. the minute i close pcdj and reboot hoster, hoster recognizes the cd-rom.

any ideas bryan ?

i havent fooled around since upgrading but i will see if the same problem excists.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

Beavis,
Try opening Hoster first and then FX, and see what happens.

It seems that something in their program is locking the ASPI drivers, that allow other software to talk to the CD-R drive. Let me know what you find. If this still doesn't work, then there is just something in their software that is locking the drive, so no other program can use it while theirs is open. This is not good for their software.

hey bryan

im pretty sure i opened hoster first but i will test it again.

i will also contact fx and see if its a problem on their end.

Hey beavis,
It would be interesting to know. I have a feeling that it is something on their end locking the drive, so no other program will use it, but we will find out.

Re: playing .wma file, but not showing in playlist.

This is one reason why Songs Titles will not appear in the Playlist.

If there are more than 62 Characters in the name of a song, the song may be added to the Playlist and Played, but you will not see it in the Playlist.

Same with Mp3 and Mp+G Trks.

You will not see this with KMA Trks because there is a Character limitation during Import and Kma Tracks don't have, both, Artist and SongTitle info combined as viewed in the "Song Name" column as, usually, with WMA, Mp3, and Mp3+G Tracks.

Thanks for the Test Beavis. I was hoping that you would say something like this.
