Video Monitor (JVC 9") Won't work?
 

Using an HP Compaq 9030 laptop w/ Dual display capability.

Works fine w/ regular TV's -- but attempted using a Video Monitor (JVC brand) -- (it works great w/Vid Camera's) and Hoster ---

I couldn't get it to send any signal to the JVC Monitor.

Any ideas?

You may just need to set the Video Monitor to INPUT setting. If it is a TV/Computer monitor then it'll have an INPUT mode in order to recieve signal from other source. If not I have no idea.

Just my guess.

Thanks for the idea --

I should have been a little clearer -- not a computer monitor --- this is a monitor like you see TV people using -- Color screen -- 9" -- very compact --- I used it many times for my monitor when I sent the signal to multiple TV's and still needed to see what the CDG players were sending out -- it works great -- but won't w/ the computer's vid signal output (RCA cable from the S-Video output port)

This Monitor probably has an Analog input, S-Video input, RCA composite input. If you're going in via the RCA composite input then the unit needs to be set on that setting or you will not get a thru signal.

Do you have a S-Video to RCA converter between the connections? If you don't you'll need one. (Radio Shack about $20)

When you used it before was you using the same connection or was it coax(analog) connection. If so, then it needs to be switched from analog setting to RCA composite setting. This is like that so you can have multiple input connections w/o two signals playing at the same time.

That's all I can suggest might be the problem.
