Directx 9.0 might be causing a problem

A few days ago I installed Directx 9.0 on all my computers. Since then, I have been having some problems on my home computer with pop ups telling me that windows has a problem with either Windows Explorer or DiscJuggler, and needs to shut them down.

I also installed Directx 9.0 on my laptop that has Hoster. So far, I have not had a chance to use the laptop, but am a bit worried that this same thing might happen with the Hoster program when I go to do a show.

Has anyone else had similar problems after installing Directx 9.0, and more importantly, any problems with the Hoster program?

before updating to any hoster version......you should make sure your computer is updated with all the latest updates !

I did not say anything about updating to a new Hoster version. Directx 9.0 is a Microsoft program that has to do with compression and graphics. Nothing directly related to Hoster.

However, before my last Hoster update I made sure my computer was updated also. But this Directx 9.0 update came along after the fact.

:) You did not say what operating system you were using. I have not personally had any problems and I am running Direct 9.0. You should however, create a restore point if you are using Windows XP because you can reverse the effects of the install. Sometimes, XP will create a restore point if you are doing a microsoft upgrade. Look and see if there is a restore point related to the Direct X install or maybe a restore point from the day before. If there is, do the restore and it might get you back to the conditions that existed before the install.

As it turned out, I am not having any problems with Directx 9.0 and Hoster. I was just worried because some unusual things were happening, but they all fixed themselves.

And yes I made a restore point before I installed Directx. I make a restore point before I make any change. It has saved my neck, once with Hoster and several times on my home computer.

dlessnau,
I also use diskjuggler, and am having no problems with 9.0c. Make sure you have the latest version of diskjuggler.

As far as MTU Products. They all work fine with all the latest updates. The reason for this is because MTU is constantly updating and looking for ways to better their software rather than sitting on its hands and reaping the profits of a product that was created long ago and out dated.

Microstudio is hands above Diskjuggler. It has many more functions, and is more versatile and........ for the same price. :g

I agree on your comments about MTU. I could not be more happy.

I realize that MicoStudio is probably better than DiscJuggler, but I have copied over 1500 CDG's using DiscJuggler and am so used to it, I hesitate to try to learn something new. Plus, they have given me excellent customer service too.

If I had to go back to using my CDG's to do a show, I think I would give up the business. We work in a Mexican Restaruant and on Friday and Saturday we have standing room only, 25 Spanish singers on the list, and everyone partying BIG TIME.

Trying to handle that, using about 1000 discs would be almost impossible. With Hoster, I can put all the singers in the playlist and sit back and more or less relax. Just push PLAY when ready. Easy.
