Drag & Dropping .kma's

bryan cox,

why cant i import my cd-g's on my back up computer then burn the .kma's to a cd, then transfer them to my Hoster computer?

even when i rebuild my database they dont show up. they are in the proper file.

is this not allowed?

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

Beavis,
This will work fine. The only problem that you MUST make sure of, is that you don't use a Duplicate BookID on your Backup system. This may be what has happened.

If you have a Song on your Original Show System that is BookID 1-900, then you start Importing on your Backup System and you start it at BookID 1-50, these new discs will not show up.

You must have Different BookID's for Each Disc, or the duplicates will not show.

This is the only thing that I know that could cause this to happen.

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

the reason they do not show up is because when you put them on a cd they are then read only. you must change take the read only attribute off before it will work.

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

i actually networked them down to my hoster computer from my office(same building). would that make a difference ?

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

Beavis,
It should work fine either way, it is only the Numbers that I am aware of that can cause this.

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

you were right bryan, what i should have done was built the database on my office computer first, then it would have kept me in order with my book ID. i didnt do that so it was allowing me to choose book ID #1 so i put in book ID #125 when it was in use! after rebuilding the database on my office computer it goes to the next book id available.

thanks for the help bryan !

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

why does it tell me the disc ID is in use by another brand, choose another one ??

it is not in my database as being used. even when i try a different disc id the same error comes up.

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

this is just what i have been talking about from the start
about hoster finding a dupe id and not seeing it

here is a honest person who is having a problem with the dupe book id
when you work on more then 1 unit for importing this is going to happin all the time
david i know what your fear is here
but what about the honest people that would like to see that feat in hoster

were it will renumber the book id when it finds dupe

just think out load mike

open up your data file and you can find what numbers you have dupe
and go back and get ride of the dupe

Re: Drag & Dropping .kma's

AFTER UPGRADING TO VERSION 2.215 IT AT LEAST IMPORTS.

i will post back on if it shows up in the database on my hoster computer.

sorry for the caps !!
