external blaster sound card

I have installed an external Blaster sound card in the USB port to use instead of the headphone jack when I plug into my PA system but do not get the same volume. Is it necessary to disable the onboard sound card to increas volume thru the Blaster external card? If so how is it done and can it be enabled later?

Re: external blaster sound card

I have been using an External Sound Blaster Audigy with my laptop, and it works perfect. It actually has a higher level coming out of it, then the on-board sound did.

You don't have to disable anything, you can use both in conjunction with each other.

you need to go into your control panel and click sounds & devices then hit the audio tab. from there you should be able to adjust your volume.
