Hoster 2.209
Just got the upgrade...
The first time I opened Hoster the "Start Button" did not start a song. After 20 minutes I closed and reopened Hoster and the button worked. Two things I absolutely do not like - The "Singer Field" is now required and you must click the "Add Track Button" to get a song on the Playlist. It was so much faster before - just punch in the ID and touch "Enter". Could we have those features back? or at least give us the option? Overall the program is great, but as with anything it can still get better. Tom |
SCREECH!!!!! This news will put the breaks on my upgrade for a while. :(
Yo!!! MTU? I really would prefer that the singer name NOT be required. Though I almost always use it at a show, there are occations where I intentionally leave it blank. I also want my [enter] key working again. Please! Pretty Please! (With sugar on top) Reconsider these. :( Thanks! :) |
If you only knew.................
bdayton... you've got to be kidding! :e The new Search capability alone is worth upgrading. Click here to download the 2.209 manual and read the "What's new in 2.209", or click here to read a short list of the 2.209 upgrades. We have done a lot of changes. :w
Our beta testers demanded the Enter key add the track also. And we tried, and tried and we tried. In a Tabbed Window (which the Playlist is), there is a bug in Windows and we never came up with a direct fix for it. :e :m However... if you read the manual on adding tracks, you will see there is a simple work-around that is not too painful. As to our forcing the Singer's name, if you don't want to enter one... all you have to do is hit the space bar to insert a BLANK character and keep going. :e You don't have to enter TEXT characters. One of our betas pointed that out to all of us. Sometimes we just get too wrapped up in our "fixed thinking" to come outside the box. :r :c Try it, you'll like it. As soon as we can afford the time, we will work on rearchitecting Hoster to remove the Tabbed Window we now how. It is not a trivial task or it would be gone already! This also prevents our hot keys from working. We have spent many thousand's of dollars trying to overcome this Windows limitation also. Darn... I thought they had the best OS in the world. :e :r NOT! :m :m :m |
I am delaying not because of what I am gaining but rather, what I am loosing. :( I'll still have to do it eventually anyway but for the time being, I don't want to deal with the changes I'm going to have to make in my procedures.
I'll get over it. :) Much Thanks! |
