backing up hoster

How is it best to backup hoster? I was wondering if you can transfer the whole program to an external hard drive in case the laptop crashes? If so, how to proceed?

Norton Ghost 2003 will make a backup Image of your hard drive.

You can back it up to a dvd, cd or another hard drive.

1) keep only operating system, and program files on the C: drive
2)keep the karaoke tracks in a folder in the external harddrive
3)Use ghost and make a backup image of the c: drive to a folder on the external drive

If you do this you can do a restore in 15 minutes or less.

otherwise, if it is like I have had to do int the past sooooo many times, Spend 6 hrs reloading the os, and program files.

( I have a Maxtor 200 gig ide external)
