Lirics scrn reverts back to play scrn

I have the complete set of MTU programs and MTU's laptop. All bought last March 2003.
I have about 2000 songs installed on the hard drive. I am giving the drive its first Defrag, hoping it will solve a problem that has just popped up.

The Problem:
When I play a playlist straight through without a pause in songs, after about ten minutes or so, the sound stops, the Lirics screen will cut off, and the screen will revert back to the Play list screen. The song list is no longer visible, and the screen colors seem reversed. The song then continues to play again in the Play screen, not in the lirics screen. I must use the Esc key to stop it and start all over again for another ten minutes or so. Then the same thing happens again.

This problem has cause me not to do any more shows. They seem to think I am the one at fault not the computer..

Has anyone else had this happen? Please help! Thanks.

Strange as this may sound, I think perhaps your power management settings are wrong.....(ie. screen saver, and the like)
Occasionally I've had those try to kick in but somehow they didn't fully, perhaps due to another app running in the background.

Try setting those timers to a longer duration( say...2 hrs or more)
and see if there is any change.

I may very well be wrong in this case, but it won't hurt anything to try it out.

I had it set to "Never" for power and a few hours for battery. That was my first thought too.
No screen saver or other program are open when that happens.
I haven't tried it yet after I defraged the drive. Will do that later and let you know.
I have an idea that there may not be enough space on the hard drive left for the files to move around, or I may need more Ram. What do you think about that possibility?

Keep

My problem is solved.
I did say that there was no screen saver on in my post. I was wrong!!! I didn't purposely put it on, is the reason I didn't know it was on.
So funny things happen. I should have known that computers don't make mistakes, people do, and that MTU knew that the Screen Saver must be off. (So did I). The Screen saver was Microsoft's XP pro. I might hit the wrong tab at some time or other.
You were right on
