Microstudio Demo (v2.517) won't run with GF3, but will with TNT2
Howdy all:
I've been checking out different tools to create my own CD+G (and make a few custom compellations) and started playing with MicroStudio. It seemed like a cool tool (too bad I don’t have a compatible burner) and I figured I’d mess around with it some more later. Later came after I swapped out the computer’s older 32meg TNT2 video card with a 64meg GeForce3 card. Same nVidia drivers, same screen resolution and color depth, but with the GF3 card Microstudio craps out and Windows offers to send its error report to Microsoft (I’m running XP). I messed around a bit with different video settings and finally stuck the TNT2 back in. Viola MicroStudio is back in action. Weird. Huh? The pity is that if I hadn’t already had the older card in there when I first ran the demo MTU’s software would have gotten scratched off the list right along with ************ (I don’t spend a lot of effort in "making" demos work). If there are more specific video requirements than "a Video display card (not an S3 card) with 8MB or more of RAM," it might be worth mentioning them. I reckon that the Karaoke Suite and a burner from MTU is the way I’ll go (I could mess with cue files and a half dozen other applications) since it seems like the safest way to keep some hair in my head. Video Card
I don't think Microstudio is the reason, I have an MSI FX5600 with 128 meg of memory and have no problems.
The only time I had problem with my graphic was when I used the wrong burner (Yamaha) or with an ATI video card with the latest driver. Regards |
