playback on computer
I purchased microstudio along with cd -rw, "Plexwriter CD-R PX-W4824A SCSI " from mtu and now updated it to version 2.517. I have been using the cd-rw with other programs and all works fine.
I just started working with microstudio. The program sees the cd-r and says it will do karaoke disk. It will read the selections on the disk. When you select "play" the small screen comes up, the selection comes up and reads the title, however the lyrics will not start and the sound is broken and not smooth. The full size screen does the same thing. If you copy the song to the hard disk it will do the same thing when you try to play it. All appears that the cd-r is not reading the disk right. The disk will play in a karaoke I have just fine. I have tried several disk and they all do the same thing. I am using windows XP, HOME EDITION, 1150 megahertz AMD processor, 512 megabytes ram, and NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti200 display. Do you have any suggestions ? This program does me no good if I can't play or edit karaoke disk. Help!!! |
Will not display text and skips music
I did not see an answer to this post. Since buying the product Microstudio and registering it I am having the same problem with a different system. My system is a Pentium III 667 with a Nvidia Gforce 5200 128 meg and 512 Ram. I am using a TDK CDRW121032 (12x/10x/32x CD-RW) and it will import tracks and write the cd+g. The cd+g's will play on a cd+g player but when playing on my PC it will only play the splash screen of the song and not the lyrics. Mine also skips when playing the audio portion of the song. I even tried a cd+g that was the original to see if it would play but I had the same results. I am running Windows 2000 Pro Service Pack 4 for an operating system. The tracks that I imported to make my custom cd+g that are in the .lst format will play just fine in the display window. The ASPI driver is the current one from MTU so it recognizes the drive just fine and will write the cd+g but once on the cd+g and not on the hard drive the tracks will not work properly. I do have other cd+g players that will display the song correctly on my PC. This means that my hardware and my cd+g disc is just fine as well as all the dll's and drivers but Microstudio has an issue.
At one time I was a contributor and a beta test person for this site for all of the products, but when 09/11 came I lost a loved one and then went out of touch with most of my computer testing sites. Then in 06/04/03 I lost my oldest son to a car accident and am just now starting to get back to karaoke work since it provides me with an outlet that offers encouragement. So I say all of this to say simply that I know what I am doing and think that you should try the program demo above and see if it works on your system. It probably will! I am sure that MTU will take care of this program. The reason that I was willing to be a beta tester was because he cared about the product that he was producing and was constantly upgrading and fixing problems. Microstudio 2517 requires Direct X 9.0
Try downloading and installing Direct X 9.0 from the Microsoft website. it is available as a free download for all Windows O.S's except 95 and NT. Thus Microstudio 2517 will not run on 95 or NT. The surest way to find out what version you have is to click on START, RUN, and type in DXDIAG...at the bottom of the first page it will tell you what version of Direct X you are running. George. |
I am Using DirectX9.0b
Thanks for the reply. I already had DirectX 9.ob on my system. Any other suggestions?

I think the next thing I'd take a shot at is to reduce the hardware accellerators.

Audio Card
Which audio card are you using?
I've experience your problem with a SB Live & PCI 128 when taking the driver from Windows Update site versus the Creative web site. Keep in mind that every time you update your audio driver it goes back to its default mode which is full acceleration. George's recommendation is what I believe is the solution, reduce the audio acceleration if of course you have a SB audio card. How to: Start, Run, dxdiag, Sound 1 & reduce to 25%. regards |
Thanks That worked
I did have a SB Live Video card and I changed the settings in DirectX and it now plays like it should. I knew that I could count on people at Microstudio. Now for the fun part. Getting to work and comparing the program with other CD+G programs. I have been using Padus Diskjuggler for 5 years and just thought a change would be interesting. Now I have 4 programs that do CD+G copying. Thanks again!

Great
I dont know how good Pados works but one thing I did notice after trying out other cdg extractor is that Microstudio has a unique sound.
The way it extracts the wave file in the hard drive is just excellent. I have no other studio software capable of giving me such a great sound! I only wish it would allow playing other format like mp3+g because wave is quite big in the hard drive. When testing other software I found one on the demo mode that limits the player to 60 sec. but they forgot to lock the convertion which I couldn't believe it has something called MTU to mp3+g or MTU to bin!! I guess some CIE's wish to have the customers from MTU? Regards |
DJKARAOK Glad to have nailed it for you.
Hope the results are the same for RDYSART06.. George |
