Problems with CD burner

I am getting the following message when attempting to burn a CD-G:

Error: 'Write' command failed on device 1:0:0 Read/Write error or bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 0ch 09h)

I am able burn data cds (jpeg, mpeg, avi) but can not burn a CD-G. I have attempted to download a new drive, but that did not work. The driver I downloaded was "NeroAspiEn".

It seems like the burner worked fine until I installed the new version of Microstudio.

Please help!

Michael,

Which burner do you have? Please also tell me which media are you using and its certified speed.

Jon

Problem with CD Burner

I am still unable to burn a CD-G. I have attempted to update drivers per another thread from Bryan at MTU, but that did not work.

Can anyone help?

Michael,
Please try slowing the Write Speed down. You can do this by going to the Drives Menu, Speed selection. Change it from Auto to some other speed such as 16x.

This error means that the data is not getting from your computer to the drive fast enough. I would also shut down any un-needed programs before you burn a disc.

Also what version of Windows are you running? If you are under Windows 98 or ME did you make the changes to DMA as stated in the manual by Plextor?

Bryan, that was the problem. I had the speed at auto select and have never had that problem. Regardless, thanks for the easy fix.
