Importing Speed

I was reading on some other threads about very slow loading speeds. Some said it took as much as 1 hour for a song. I received my new laptop from MTU five days ago and have 250 discs loaded with 450 to go.

I am averaging about 6 minutes per disc, with an occasional one, taking as long as 15 minutes.

I was wondering what is an average time per disc?

That is a loaded question. It depends on how Pristine the disk is and the way it was recorded. I have seen some disks read in 3 minutes and some an hour.

If a disk is scratched hoster will slow down and try to get a good read, sometimes it cant. also some sound choice & top tunes will take forever to read. You will also find some disks you can't read the last track.

Pay attention to the time factor before the copy if a track says it is .6 seconds long. dont copy it. This was my experience from loading 879 cd's took me 6 weeks.good luck
