Deleting songs, Rebuild Database
I need an explaination.
I imported a disc twice. The second time, I used the disc ID number that was suppose to go into the data base, but actually imported in the first disc again. I went into Explorer and deleted the duplicate songs. I then brought up the Import songs page, clicked on the proper book ID number and reimproted the correct songs into that slot. All worked fine. However, I read in the manual that I need to use the rebuild database command to delete songs. I don't understand this. What I did worked. When do you use the rebuild database command? I also wonder about the back up button. I back up my Holster Songs on an external hard drive. I also have been clicking the back up button to back up somemore. I looked at the size if the backup file, as I was worried the back ups would use up all my hard disc space. The file is very small. How can this be? I also note that in the two back up files, songs and backup songs, one is two K bigger then the other. I was wondering if that is because of my deleting those songs in Explorer, and not doing what ever I am supposed to do in Rebuild Database? All is going well with my importing. 50 discs in and 650 to go. |
