Most any Slot 1 mobo will work for you, however, if you are considering a new mobo, you might also consider upgrading your processor, since the slot 1 only allows Pentium III(450-800Mhz), Pent II(233-450Mhz) and Celeron(266-533Mhz) processors. You might be better off getting a Socket 478 which allows the use of Pentium 4 processors or a Socket A which supports AMD processors. But in doing so you have to get a new processor.
After doing a little bit of searching, I have found the options you have to stay with your current processor are very limited. Tyan makes the Trinity 400, which is almost identical in features to your motherboard. I have found it on a couple of sites, and it runs about $130. Also the Abit BE6 will work for you at a cheaper $80 and almost a direct replacement. The Abit SH6 will also work at $150. IMO, you're better off upgrading to a Socket 478 and a new P4 processor. And if you can swing a little extra $ at this time upgrade your memory as well. If you're on a tight buget, you can get a Celeron 2.0Ghz processor, Gigabyte 8ST800-L mobo, and 512Mb PC3200 RAM for around $260. (This mobo supports up to P4 3.06Ghz or above) Only problem you might have is if you have an ISA card on your current mobo, it will not transfer to your new one. Good luck, Flip |
