recording with two cd recorders

hi,
i have 2 yamahas external cd burners. I wanted to use one as the reader, and one as the burner. This way, mtu 2.4 does not record onto the hard drive, and then wait for me to insert a blank media.
Is this possible.
when i explore my computer, I do see both drives, and they are labled E, F. But when i open mtu, i cant differentiate between one and another.
can anyone help?

Hi,

I run a a Yamaha and a Plextor burner in my PC -- I wanted to do direct Copying -- Previous Release of Microstudio (2.314) would allow this, but it would make you press a key after it had read all the tracks and put them into a 'temp' environment prior to buring the backup copy. - -I was told that MTU had very few users w/2 CDRW's and they had never thought about allowing direct CD to CD Copying -- I haven't tried it on 2.40 -- Hope they addressed it there -- I've been making custom CDG's for Performances so haven't had a need to direct CD to CD Back-Up's!

Good Luck!

Stankycat,
Are the two burners the same model? I have two Plextor's, 1-48/24/48A and 1- 40/12/40A, so It's easy to duplicate, because it's easy to tell which is which, but if you have the same models, I don't know how you would differinciate. I'm using Microstudio 2.400 and It works great. Also, are both burners CDG compatable?

Although Microstudio still writes an image file to the hardrive rather than disc to disc, commencing with version 2.400 you need not have to tell it to write the image file to a second cdg compliant burner. It will do so automatically.

Works just fine with my two Plextors purchased and cdg certified through MTU.
