BETAMAX-UK,

If you're talking about regular 3.5" floppy, a 3.5" floppy only holds 1.44 mg data. Average song is 30-40 mg.

Splitting Files

It would be a pain but you can split files using the right software. What I'm saying is that you probably see that George's correct reponse means "No"

However, if you are interested, have a lot of time and want to set aside 50 floppies or so, you can take this further.

(For three songs of unstated length)

Good Luck :g

i understand the problems but what is confusing is. my brother as a keyboard with a floppy built in. he as a floppy which as 10 full songs on it which he bought with the keyboard so he can sing along while hes playing the keyboard. so im wondering how have they done it

Are you sure it's what is considered a standard floppy, and not some kind of Mini-cd, like what's used in digital cameras, etc?

Beats me!

These files would be Midi Files, they are very small. This is all I know, I am sure other clients in here know better about what programs to use for Midi and actually use it.

Thanks Bryan.

I just checked file sizes on a MIDI song and the initial MIDI is 10.0 kb, the size on disc as MIDI is 32.0 kb and after I'd converted it to .WAV it's 30.4 MG.

Makes sense now.

i will just sit back and let someone else do the hard work just kidding i would like to know the sequence for doing it and the name of the software for converting. thanks all

George June 16th, 2003 11:48 AM

We just gave you the name of a MIDI software in another thread just last week.

Midi sequences can be rather large also. I have sequenced some songs that are 94k. I sequence alot of music that is currently not available in cdg, then use kpro to make a cdg.

If your brother is interested in midi files, send me an email. I don't want to take time in this forum.
