Lost Database

I have just had my system reinstalled by my friend but am unable to find the database to install my Kakaoke CDs, I have read the comments to Mallorn June the 3rd. I have no idea what version of Holster I have, but do have the Holster 2.011. Could you please tell me how to install this version. Many thanks. R.A.R.

Robert,
All you need to do is place the CD in your CD-Rom drive, it should then autostart. If it doesn't auto start then go to the My Computer or Windows Explorer and then double click on the CD-Rom drive. Find the file on the Hoster 2.011 CD that says Autorun.exe, and double click on this. This should then start the installation program.

Then click on the Hoster as stated in the Installation program. Then follow the onscreen instructions. You will need to either be connected to the internet or have a floppy ready, that you can take to another computer that is connected to the internet.

Let us know if you need any other help.

If you are meaning that when you click on the Import Tracks tab, and you can't see any of the Database files for the manufacturers discs, then what you need to check is the following.

1) Open My Computer or Windows Explorer
2) Double click on the C:\ drive.
3) Double click on the Program Files folder.
4) Double click on the Micro Technology Unlimited folder.
5) Double click on the Hoster folder.
6) Double click on the Databases folder.

Make sure there is a file in this folder that is named bucket.mdb. If this file is not in this folder then this is the reason that its not working right. If this is the case Reinstall Hoster again.

Let me know what you find.

Lost Database

Brian many thanks for your message. I carried out as you instructed and found the following.

Bucket
Microsoft Acess Database
19.00KBts

Bucket
Microsoft Record Locking Information
64BTs

The only info missing on Bucket was .mdb,is this vital

Robert,
You don't have Windows set to show Known File Extensions, so this is why your not seeing the .mdb.

Is it now working? If not, what directory is the bucket.mdb file located in? This must be in the c:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases folder, if not, it won't show up.

Lost Database

Hi Brian sorry for being so long replying, I carried out all the info hat you gave me. I have all the database file`s with one problem. i have started to install my CDG starting with Essential Karaoke. Installed 12, now when i go to continue with EK13 and go to the Database for EK the only listing`s I have are the ones that I have installed, and cannot get any other listings on EK. I can get full listings on all other makes ie Sunfly for example. Can you help please.

Unclear....

Robert, was your problem with the Lost Database solved? It appears to be.

You have stared a new topic under the same thread, and this is why you did not get an answer. Please always start a new Thread for a new topic. Just return to the Forum heading (Hoster Help here) then click the New Thread button. :)

Now, it is unclear what you are asking in this new Topic. Please try again, but this time please be careful to define what operation you are doing, and whether the Song Database or Bucket Datbase is what you are referring to. The Song DB is used by Add CD Tracks and SongBook, and the Bucket DB is used only in the Import Tracks tab.

:w For example: you might write... "I am using the Add CD Tracks dialog Brand-Disc-Track button. I have imported tracks from 82 EK discs and 35 Sunfly discs. I can see all the Sunfly tracks I have imported, but I only see tracks from the first 12 Essential Karaoke discs I have imported.

What can I do to see the rest?"
