computer freezes when i copy......

I started with the 2.314 version of Micro, never got it to copy after the first disk, then bought version 2.4. I completely wiped the hard drive, installed Windows ME,installed drivers for my peripherals, then installed Microstudio as the first program, and the ONLY program other than my internet access. It recorded the first copy I attempted, but all attempts after that have caused my conputer to lock up.I shouldn't need to update aspi drivers,2.4 has them.I disabled Auto Insert as recommended.I am using a Plextor burner. What else do I need to do?

Some computers must have the Adaptec drivers to run correctly. I would try updating your Aspi drivers to the Adaptec version, (Solution 2). Then see what happens on your system.

The only other thing that will cause this is, if you don't have the latest drivers for the motherboard in your computer. The IDE controller drives and the chipset drivers can do this.

Give these a shot and see what happens.

Lock up

zatzpause,

When I was running Me I did have the same problem when trying to extract or burn 2 cds, my solution was to reboot after 2 burned cd.

I know it's a pain but when I upgrade to XP Home and also brought my rams to 512, no more PROBLEMS!

Regards

still not right!

I have downloaded and installed the ASPI driver as suggested and now Micro won't recognize ANY burner as being installed! :?

Next idea please!

Did you do Solution 1 and Solution 2? It sounds like to me, since you don't see any drives that you didn't do Solution #2 correctly, so the files aren't installed. Rerun the Adaptec Drivers installation and see if that fixes it.
