Sound Problem

Using Win98SE and KHP.

Problem has just develped.
1. Running Win98SE
2. Default Media Player is Windows Media Player v9.0.

Problem that has developed:

When I play any mp3 or wave with the Media Player hardly any
volume when Volume is at Max.

If I bring the mp3 or wav into Cool Edit Pro, Sonar XL2, or SoundForge, and play Volume is Back and Loud.

Re-Installed Windows Media Player v9.0.
Ran System File Checker (SFC) no problems found.

Can't make CD+G now, because can't hear the instrumental.

ANY IDEAS OUT THERE?

KJZONE,

Have you tried reducing the audio/video hardware accellerators, and possibly also the sample rate conversion ?

Found the problem........

One of my neighbors who has a recording studio stopped by
I showed him the problem.....he went right to it.

In the Windows Sound Panel you get when click on the speaker icon in the system tray.

Not only is there a Slider for the Volume (Which was a Max)

BUT one for Wave Balance. This was only up about 25%. When he slid it to the Max.......MY VOLUME CAME BACK.
