Loading LD's into Hoster
Does anyone know if you can load Ld's into Hoster? I have several and hope I can get them to work with or on Hoster. I aslo was wondering if there are any cdg's company's that have the video in them like the LD's did?

Dean,
There is no way to load the LD's into a computer, that we are aware of. This is a totally different format. |
Work-arounds
First, the CD+Graphics disc format does not allow for motion video images. It is not possible. A still frame image with 10-16 colors takes up to 11 seconds to fully display at maximum speed. You can see that fast loading motion frames are not possible.
As to loading your Laser Discs, here is the only way: 1. Record your audio into a .wav file on your hard drive using a sound card 2. Edit any silence at the start and end 3. Run MTU's Karaoke Pro 4. Type in the lyrics text on each line (you may want to run the LD and stop it to read the lyrics) 5. Import the recorded/edited music .wav file 6. Place the lyrics to the music (read the manual for this) 7. Edit any mistakes to your satisfaction 8. Export your new Karaoke song as a .CDG file 9. Run Microstudio 10. In the Custom Assembly Tab, in the [b[Add Track[/b] section, click the From Disc option and locate your .cdg song 11. Add any other songs to this Assembly list before writing it to a CDG Karaoke disc 12. Put a blank CDR disc in the CDR drive you have selected 13. Click the Write CD button Voila! You have your LD song on a CDG disc with the lyrics highlighting in sync to the music. Yes, without the background video, but you now have your song to sing on CDG. |
or.. just transfer the LD's to VCD. keep them off the HD and just play them from the cdrom. that way you still have perfect cd quality sound and the video. the video doesn't look quite as good, but it's still not too bad. another good thing about it too is that you can play them in most regular karaoke players (like the JVC's)
