Extended Disply Problem
 

For security reasons I changed all my MP3+g songs to MP4. I also added a watermark (which might be the problem) to each song. When I play any song with the window on the laptop it plays just fine. When I move the window to an extended screen the video is garbled for the first couple seconds and then it play fine never out of synch. Is there something I can do to fix this??

I have verified that every mp3+g song that I converted to MP4 has this same gliche. Also the files that were already MP4 work fine until I add the watermark. This makes no sense to me. I have been running a show with these files and although it\'s annoying (at least to me) it\'s not been a problem because it does not affect the lyrics of any of the few dozen songs that have been played. I\'ve checked three laptops and two TV\'s (extended screens) and I have the same problem. If I play the song on the same screen on the laptop it works beautifully but when I drag and drop to the extended screen it has this two second gobblygoop????

Have tried removing the water mark on a few songs to see if the problem is still there?

Before I made any changes I had about 85% mp3+g and 15% videos. To add my watermark in every song I had to convert the mp3+g to video. The videos have been playing fine for years but when I add the watermark I have this weird problem. The former mp3+g songs converted to video have the problem with or without the watermark. I was checking these songs as I was converting and adding the watermarks and they were working fine on the laptop. Because I did not foresee that once I tried to play the songs on an extended screen that this problem would occur. It makes no sense to me and I was hoping there was a reason for this and some quick fix.

Just wondering if it has anything to do with compression of the video.
What program did you use to convert the files to video and was there a choice of quality to pick from?

Hi thanks for responding the software is Ultimate CD+G To Video Karaoke Converter. There is an internal CD+G resolution that can be changed and I will give it a try on each setting. The software I used to add the watermark is Video Watermark. Just by adding the watermark to the MP4 files I already had caused the same problem. I think I would need to send a few files to someone to experience the problem i am having. After so much time and money that I\'ve put into this project I hate to have to scrap the whole thing.

Can the watermark software cause this compression issue as well and is there a way to fix it if it does?

There are a number of websites offering watermark services. I just searched for video watermark and a few different ones came up. Can you give us a link to your specific version I may be able to play around with it?

I tried to install a driver from AMD Radeon website that did not change anything on one laptop. I am in the process of downloading a new video and audio driver from Intel on another I will let you know if that helped in any way when it finishes.

I had to back the intel drivers installs it made things worse.

Thank you so much Roy I believe you pointed me down the right road. I have changed the video quality and bit rates on the watermark software and the video has improved. Once I perfect that then I will go to my CD+G to Video converter to see what tweaks I can make to improve that as well. I wish I knew this months ago that the extended display could be different from the laptop display. It may take a few days to see if I get enough improvement and try again. Thanks again for your help.

Sounds promising, I have downloaded the free version of video watermark, will play around with it later see how i get on.

Well I believe I conquered the conversion from CD+G problem. I\'ve got the songs that were originally video(MP4) to add the watermark to not be perfect but acceptable. But adding the watermark to those I converted to videos not so much. So it might be I need to try a different watermark software. I am giving up today but back at it tomorrow.

Well Used the watermark program and run some tests.
Now bear in mind I packed up doing karaoke some years back so had not played any video karaoke tracks in Hoster for a long time but did notice that when I played any karaoke videos, even ones without the water mark they played Ok until I sent them to the extended monitor.
When I sent them to the extended monitor there was a blank screen for a few seconds so did not show the intro screen, then the actual video started suddenly.
I have now updated the K-Lite codec pac, in my case the Mega 1890 version. made sure I ticked the box that appears during installation for mp4. and now all is well and playing both mp4 with and without the water mark on the extended monitor.

Whether this will help you or not I dont know but worth a try.
