computer freezing when writing pregap

When I try to duplicate a disk, it does the audio extraction, then when it starts to burn, the computer freezes at writing pregap.

DMA is enabled.

I am using windows 98.

Is this an issue that can be resolved by installing/upgrading ASPI drivers? Or is there something else that I should be looking for.

Thank You In Advance,
Brian Weber

Yes that would be the first advise I would give you, go the ASPI thread, and follow the instructions.

Brian,
Also which CD-R drive are you using? The ASPI drivers are located at: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=493

Let me know if this does or doesn't work.

I am using the 40x plextor drive I purchased from MTU and the cd-r disk from MTU.

I downloaded aspi drivers from adaptec, I havn't had a chance to do anything yet. Should I try the driver from your previous post or try the drivers from adaptec?

Thank You,
Brian Weber

Please also download our ASPI driver as listed above, this can also work when the Adaptec doesn't. Please try this and let me know what happens.

Good News!!!

Everything is working perfect now. I am able to finally copy disks!!!

It turns out it was not an aspi problem. After installing all possible aspi drivers with no luck, and my computer crashing/freezing all of the time. I decided to clean the harddrive and do a fresh installation of windows.

My computer's operating system was severly corrupt.

After reinstalling a fresh copy of windows 98se copying has been working perfectly, and my computer is no longer crashing/freezing.

This is a great product. Thank You very much!!
