Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

I need help please, I bought new cdg's and when I go to import them everything comes up correctly and starts importing the track, but after it starts importing a box pops up saying
"Hoster application has stopped working
a problem caused the program to stop working correctly"
and I have to close the program.
I've never run into this problem before. I've imported the songs on the other computer no problem.

windows 10 64 bit
intel core i7-5500u 2.40ghz
1 tb hard drive
16 gb mem
Hoster 5.41.04

Not while online but try temporarily disabling your spyware and see if it imports OK.

If it imports OK after that you need to check if there is a setting in your spyware that can be switched.

If it does turn out to be your spyware interfering, which one are you using?

What happens if you use the Singers disc option both play from disc and add functions, do they work OK ?

Can you attach a screen shot of your import CD tracks dialog ?

1 Attachment(s)
Yes it will work fine under singers disc only on play from disc, it does the same thing when I try to add.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

So you are saying it also crashes when you use the Add feature from singers Disc ?

I was hoping to see in that attachment drive speed setting but the error is covering it, is it showing Max if so try slowing it down although I doubt that is the problem might be worth a try.

I notice in your first post you are running Windows 10, did you recently upgrade to 10 if so has the problem only started since upgrading ? If so I think it has to do with a driver update for your CD drive.

Might be worth visiting your computers own site see if there are any updated drivers or if that fails find the brand of the CD drive and go to that manufacturers site see if they offer any upgrades.

I also slowed it down and still crashing
No I did not just upgrade to windows 10. it's been on here since I bought the computer last year.
can not find any upgrades for the driver
and also it's only in the hoster program, I can still upload regular music discs to media player.

Thanks,

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

Have you recently updated Windows 10 to the Windows 10 Anniversary Addition which is version 1607 ?

I ask this because one of the Beta testers found the Add feature stopped working after that update, he reverted back to 1511 and all worked again so could be related.

If not then I'm stumped, I should put in a support ticket.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

It has updated to windows 10 anniversary, I did not realize it, but it's been more than 10 days so I can not revert back, I also tried to revert by going to advanced settings but it still would not revert it.
This is what is causing the problem, my other computer updated to the anniversary edition this morning, so I checked it and it was doing the same thing, I was able to revert it back and hoster works fine. so now I'm not sure how to get the other one back except to redo the computer!!!

I thank you for your help.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

Nodoubt MTU will fix it in a later update but it's only just come to light.
So in the meantime I recommend holding back from installing the anniversary version of Windows.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

You might try right clicking on the hoster icon and select troubleshoot compatability.

It seemd to work on the hosterdemo version.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

The problem appears to be with .wma files that the anniversary update is having problems with.
Kma format is an envelope containing .wma music file plus the cdg graphic file plus additional data to index them.
You might find if you choose to import them as KMH and then choose either MP3+G or Zip mp3+G in the "Import as" selection box.

Haven't tried it myself as I'm not running the anniversary edition but worth a try.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

Ok i could not import as kmh files because it did not give me that option but it let me import as mp3+g files and is working well that way.

Thank you

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

Having the same problem. can play direct from CDG disc but when trying to import get the following fault.
" E:\" The Directory Name Is Invalid?? E relates to CDRom?
Error first became apparent after later updates to first edition of windows 10??
Cheers
Gary.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

Further to the above. WMA file Will not be supported in windows 10 which is the reason for the invalid directory error. Alternative will probably be importing as MP3+G.MTU are working on an update.
Cheers.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

I have three show computers. one still has windows 7 installed. KMA will still import on It then copy files to other computers, otherwise KMH files are the alternative??
Cheers.

Re: Hoster stopped working when trying to Import CD

I had a laptop with windows 7 and everything worked just fine. I updated over a year to windows 10 and worked ok. 2 days ago windows updated again and now I cant import my CDG CDS.
I will try to import them as stated on here though. Seems the problem got around quick. I don't feel alone any more.

This is a problem with Windows 10 Anniversary 1607 addition. It is a Microsoft issue due to some changes they made. MTU is aware of it and I am sure there will be an update soon. The problem also exists if you try to use the "Add" feature for singers disk in the main playlist page. You can still play straight from the "singers disk". As Roy pointed out, if you are importing songs from CDG disk, use the mp3+g option instead of KMA.
