Song Stops, Using 5.40.03
Once in a while when playing a song the song stops as if it came to an end and the next song title on the playlist is highlighted.
Mostly if occurs when I first turn on my laptop (Win7). If I play the song right after the problem the song will play normally, but Hoster might act up on another song. It seems the longer the laptop is playing, the less often the problem occurs. Any ideas? Thanks, Wes |

Walt,
Thanks for the quick response. I may not have explained the problem correctly. When the song stops both audio and graphics disappear. No, I've not checked the other computer since it's my backup, however, I'll check it out. Since I'm not pro, when the problem has occurred it has not caused a big problem for me, but I do worry about it. Thanks, Wes |

1. I use the internal drive. 2. Yes, when I load the same playlist it occurs, but on different songs 3. I created a new playlist and it still occurred on different songs. 4. I checked my backup laptop, and the same thing occurred. I also checked my Realtek Audio Driver and it's current. My laptop doesn't have a stand alone graphics card, so I didn't look for a driver. I also ran register cleaner, and also optimized my hard drive and finally upgraded to the latest version of Hoster, But, I still had problems. Then I remembered I used TOOLS to changed some Audio Setting in order to do a quicker key change and to activate VOCAL function quicker. Like a dummy I didn't write down the default numbers for "Playback Offset", or for "Preset Audio Dropouts", so, I don't know what the default settings are supposed to be? I also can't find that information in the manual. Thanks for your concerns and any help you can give, Wes |
Re: Song Stops, Using 5.40.03
Roy,
It just dawned on me that I had not given my current hookup, so here it is: From my computer, I use a USB connection to a Bose T1 ToneMach Mixer then to a Bose Compact L1. However, I also get the same results when I disconnect from the USB and use the laptop without the Bose setup. So, I guess my revelation has no value to solving my drop out problems. :? |

What you described in your first post is not audio dropouts but the song ending prematurely. So does it finish close to the end or could it be anywhere in the song ? Thinking about it I wonder if you have some other program running in the background causing an interruption and causing Hoster to finish the song. So first thought is could your spyware or virus checking software be interfering with Hoster ? As you say it happens on your backup as well, is that running the same spyware software only it seems like whatever it is, is on both computers. Are there any settings in it that can be turned off to see if it stops the problem ? Or temporary run Hoster with the spyware turned off, Obviously not while connected to the internet. If it doesn't occur when turned off then it most likely is related to that then you can see if you can make it compatible with Hoster. |
Re: Song Stops, Using 5.40.03
Roy,
I was able to solve my problem, by doing what you suggested. I turned off my Norton Suite and also my internet connection and I didn't have a problem with one single song. Before I turned off the Norton Suite, I noticed when I had a problem with Hoster, Norton would indicate it was preforming some type of check. Thanks again for all the help I've received from you and Walt. Wes |
