Video Broadcasting System

First of all, I like the latest upgrade to Hoster. While I'm not a professional, and therefore don't need many of the features, I still like the upgrade.

Years ago, I did volunteer "sing along" using my karaoke setup and Hoster at an assisted care facility. At that time, I was able to use a Recoton Broadcast system to send the graphics to a large TV screen so the residents could follow the lyrics.

I went from the Karaoke Video Player Amplifier using the RCA outputs to the Recoton Transmitter which sent the RF signal to the receiver and then from the receiver coax to the TX. The residents could read the lyrics and sing along.

I have volunteered to do the sing along again. Since I'm now using a computer with the USB to a Bose Tone Match for the audio and the laptop's VGA to another computer's VGA which I use as my monitor, I don't know how to use the Recoton System, so I can also use a big TV for the residents.

So, any ideas on how I can use my old system, or if that will not work, what new system can I use to send video to a remote TV and still have my small monitor?

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Wes

I believe one of these will suit your needs: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Proxima-Dire...+converter+box

Although the above is amazon UK you should be able to source one from your area.

They are fairly cheap so if it doesn't work you won't have wasted a lot of dosh.

You will need to use another usb port to power it but I think you have 3 usb ports on your computer.
You run your VGA into the unit then use the VGA pass through to your other monitor. Then either connect the Rca video out to your Recoton Transmitter or alternately run an rca video lead direct to the RCA video in of the TV.

Roy,

Once again thanks for your help. I found one here in the USA and I've order it. I'll let you know how it works.

Thanks again,
Wes

Roy,

It just occurred to me that I didn't have Hoster when I was a volunteer at the assisted care facility. At that time, I only had Microstudio.

Early versions of Microstudio did not have the extended monitor option but other than that the video converter should still work ok for you.

Re: Video Broadcasting System

Roy,

I set it up and it works. I have two monitors one, a computer monitor, I'll use for me and the other is a big TV screen. The video on the big TV is not 100%, but it's good enough for it's purpose, it's even in color.

I can now use the broadcast system and send the video signal across the room to the big TV for use by the assisted care residents.

Thanks again for all you help,
Wes
