Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

I am using Hoster 5.35.01 on Windows 8.1 HP laptop.
On my other machines with Hoster I can give color to the song and the singer names at the bottom of the Lyrics & Intermission screen (Singers Name Display) from the "Show Display Setup".
The other Hoster programs have a "Enable" check box and this version does not.
The same holds true with the "Running" of the songs. The songs show their time for each song in the "Song List" NOT the running time for all songs when the songs are playing. It'll show a time but I haven't a clue what it means as it does not relate to anything I see.
I check the "Display Current Time" and that does nothing. I hit apply and sometimes I restart Hoster with no results.:?
Can some one help. I must be just missing something. Thanks

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

Well you should see the change after pressing "Apply" in the top right of the show display dialog.
If changing the singer colour for intermission view make sure Intermision button is highlighted, click on singer button should bring up a text dialog, set the colour and size then press OK which closes that dialog then press apply in main dialog. You can make multiple changes in the Show Display setup dialog and just press apply at the end which will then set all the alterations.

Roy - I made all the same colour. I press applied each time. No change. I closed the display. I closed Hoster. I restarted Hoster. I went back and did each one seperately and pressed apply and closed the display each time.

It did not change anything. The singer and song are the same colour, black. Did they remove the "Enable" check box from this version? Thanks

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

I see you don't have the enable and you colour is changed. Mine won't change from black. I chose a Red & Blue conbinations as like my previous version ( 5.30). I pressed apply and it gets frustrating.

Maybe a reinstall?
Thanks

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

I tried reinstall to V5.34.1 and than update to V5.35.1.01. The colour display made no difference. I could not change it.

I am using a HP detachable Laptop that is a digital HD with Windows 8.1. I am feeling that this must be a Windows or a HP problem.

The only thing I haven't tried is a uninstall and remove, clean registry and reinstall.

My main laptop is a Toshiba Qusmio with 8.1 and that has the V5.30 that has the colour that I wanted.
Anyother help would be appreciated and I'll try most anything at this point.:g

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

When you re installed 5.34 was the colour still unchangeable with that version installed ?

Does the button colour change like in my previous screen shot it shows the button colour as yellow. When you click on the singer button and the text dialog opens and you choose a colour are you pressing the OK button in that dialog ? it should change the button colour there and then although the SND display wont reflect that change until you press apply. so is the button changing colour ?

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

Yes, I was NOT able to change the colour of the font in that version too. I did notice that the "enable box" was in that version and the colours I chose were what I wanted but the font did NOT change colour.

Yes I am clicking ok from the font window and than apply as I can see the colours are there, the one I choose, but the effects do not change the colour of the font in the Graphic area.

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

I just made a short video showing me changing those colours take a look at that just to make sure you are doing things right. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/dEy_24SGO2k

If that's no help let us know and I will inform support to check this thread out.

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

I have been using Hoster since 2003 and I am fimiliar with much of the program as most.
But I have done exactly as the video, over and over again. It baffles me as why mine won't change colour. Maybe it's because I have a "white" background? I'll try changing that and let you know if it works.:)

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

One more thing I thought worth mentioning was that I did get the "Error 1706" message.

Roy Dennis July 28th, 2015 09:45 AM

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

That error is common and does not effect the running of Hoster.
Your other point about times, is that still a problem ?
The Display current time just shows on the marquee top right. if your still getting the playlist not displaying times correct can you grab a screen shot ?

Try this: if you still have the above version go to Help/Backup/restore, create the backup file from there and save it to another source.
Then open Hoster on your new computer from Help/Backup restore use the restore option and select the backup you created from old version, this will copy all the settings from that and apply them to your new computer even the registry settings.

I am using that version on another laptop

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

That doesn't matter, save the backup file to a usb stick or portable hard drive, then plug that into your new computer, bring up the help/backup/restore from within Hoster on that and select restore and brows to the restore file from there.

Re: Version 5.35.01 No Color Display

Nope. It didn't make a difference. But it did scare me momentarily s all my songs were gone from my play lit (grayed out)
